Today, my girl turns 22. Another birthday where the miles separate us and I don’t get to hug her neck on her special day.
Taylor is in Oklahoma finishing her final semester of college. She’ll graduate in May as a Registered Nurse. I always knew God would use her for something special. She loves helping people. We often have to remind her to not carry everyone’s burdens as her own. She really wants to change the world. She has a such a servant’s heart. She is mature beyond her years. She loves coffee a lot, but loves her Jesus more than anything. When she comes home, you will see her little sister stuck to her side, and Taylor eats up every bit of it. She loves the outdoors, loves to read, loves to cook and loves her family. She has the sweetest group of girl friends, who are running towards Jesus with her. I couldn’t ask for more as a mom.
I have loved watching her grow into her own women. It is still surreal to me that she is a woman. This month, she will be sending her resume to hospitals in the Dallas area, looking for a job. If you think about it, I’d love for you to pray that the Lord will open the right doors and lead her where He wants her to go.
It’s snowing in Oklahoma and most kids would be thrilled, but Taylor text me that she’s worried that school will be cancelled because she has so much “learning to do.” I thought she was kidding, but no she’s serious. She loves to learn!
This year there’s been another side to her that has been so fun watching her transformation. She has taken control of her health and is now training for a half marathon. She looks amazing and told me that she is in the best shape of her life.
Blessed to be her mom is an understatement.
I love you, sweet girl. Happy 22nd birthday!!
(If any of Tay’s friends read this, please give her a hug for me!)
