Our camping trip that has been an Easter tradition for 10 years was almost canceled due to my daughter’s accident. She was driving my car and that is the biggest car we have to tote all of our camping stuff….
(This picture doesn’t do it justice. I finally saw my car in person and I can’t tell you how thankful I am that my daughter has only minor injuries!)
But, we decided that we needed really needed a little R&R and some time away from everyday life, so we decided to go ahead and make the trip.
We found a rental car big enough to transport our gear and we were off.
This was our home for the past 3 1/2 days. It may not look like much, but it was pure bliss.
This is what I woke up to every morning.
We had lots of family and friends join us this year.
We ate a lot.
The kids swam.
And we recharged, ready for a new week!
This little dog found his way to our campsite. We loved on him and fed him and had planned on taking him home, but he ended up leaving our camp after a few days. I guess he had a better offer. Tristyn was so sad to see him go.
Our gang after roughing it in the woods for 3 1/2 days.
Easter was perfect. I love celebrating my Risen Savior outside in God’s beautiful creation.
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said.
“You are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
He has risen! He is not here.”
Happy Easter, friends!
