After our amazing trip to Cabo, we were back in the real world for a few days, then off we went again for my in-law’s lake house for 4th of July weekend. I could hardly wait to get there because Tristyn had been at the lake since we went to Cabo. I had not seen her in 10 long days.
All 3 of the girls were able to go to the lake house, which is very rare, since the older girls are now real people with real jobs and don’t to take off work very often.
(Be ready for picture overload.)
During one of our morning runs, Mark and I passed by Tristyn playing with a raccoon. Okay. I’m sure that’s safe!
Apparently, someone rescued a baby raccoon and they are taking care of it until it’s ready to go back into the wild. His name is Bandit, of course.
I didn’t realize keeping a raccoon is illegal, or I wouldn’t have had my family pose with the little guy….but isn’t he the cutest thing ever. (Don’t try this at home!)
For July 4th, we sat by the lake with family and friends, popped fireworks and watched all the kids run around and have a blast.
It doesn’t matter how many beautiful fireworks were going off all around us. The little girls were happy with the “snakes,” black cats and smoke bombs.
The rest of our time was just as wonderful as the 4th of July.
Tori and Momo went on a canoe ride at sunset. I’m just in awe of God’s beautiful creation.
I’m so thankful for the precious memories we’ve made every year at the lake house. This year was one of the best. I really can’t believe Independence Day has come and gone. I need summer to slow down just a bit.
