Reading has always been my favorite hobby. Reading is so peaceful to me and I’d rather read than watch TV any day of the week!! Since I’ve been working at home, I make sure I try and read a little every day. This year I wanted to push myself to read more, because I love it so much and it gets pushed aside so quickly.
My goal for 2016 is to read 40 books. I use Goodreads to track my books that I read. I also use it to add books that I want to read. I’ve downloaded the handy little app so whenever someone suggests a good book, I’ll add it to my “want to read” list. It’s also great when you are shopping on Amazon or at the library looking for a book.
I love reading books that grow me. I love leadership books and entrepreneur-type books. I, also, love fiction and since I’ve been doing my plexus business, I rarely read “just for fun.” This year, I’m making sure that I pick some books that are”just fun” reads.
My January list includes:
How to Win Friend and Influence People – I’m reading this for the 2nd time because it has been so long. Excellent book and a must read for everyone!
The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson – I just finished this book and loved it!!
Failing Forward by John Maxwell – I’m doing this with my Plexus team. I love John Maxwell.
Lessons from Madame Chic– This is my “fun” read. I can’t wait. I’ve heard wonderful reviews.
Make it Happen by Lara Casey. I should be finished with this one in a few days. It’s an easy read and a good book. I didn’t really read about it before I bought it so I didn’t know what I was getting in to. She has a sweet spirit and there is so much truth in the book. I’ve thought of several people who I will suggest this book to.
I have a huge list of books for 2016 and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I can’t wait to dig into all of them.
Here are a few posts that I’ve writtenabout some of my favorite books for your kids:
