I can’t believe I haven’t posted my laundry room makeover, yet! It was actually finished a few months ago. It’s very difficult to get a good picture of the laundry room since there is no natural light and the space is small. I’m so sorry for the quality of these pictures.
My goal for this room was very simple, clean decor and very little “stuff.”
It was THE room in the house that became a place to put things that didn’t have a place. We actually kept our huge bookcase that held all of our school books. It was ugly! One day our washing machine stopped working which spurred us on the redo the room. Can I get an amen? It’s never fun to have to spend money on appliances, but they are so worth it!
Okay….here are the before pictures. No judging!!!
By the time I remembered to take a picture, we had already started moving things out of the room and trashing it. Basically, this was a room that wasn’t really updated since we moved in. (I promise I didn’t keep it this dirty. We were in the process of redoing it.)
First thing we did was replace the door.
Next, we added a cabinet. When we bought the new appliances, they didn’t fit in the same spot because of the door to the garage. So we added a cabinet and pushed the appliances to the middle of the room. I love the cabinet. It has given me extra storage and great counter space! I love the marble counter top too!
I painted the top and bottom cabinet the same color that I painted my kitchen cabinets.
We ripped out all the previous shelving. We build new shelves from stair treads. They turned out great!!
I need a place to hold extra paper towels, napkins because we buy in bulk….. and leftover creamer from the wedding! 🙂
We have a laundry shoot that drops laundry from upstairs to that basket, which is why the basket is there.
We added all new trim and baseboards.
It’s no secret how much I love chalkboards. Mark and I use part of the overhead lighting from our kitchen remodel to make this chalkboard.
