Last year Mark and I planned to take a trip for our 20th anniversary, but unfortunately I had kidney stones and didn’t want to leave the country until they went away.
Thankfully, Mark kept it a priority on his. We booked a last minute trip to Los Cabos, Mexico. I had less than a week to get ready. (Just so you know, I’m not very spontaneous and this was very spontaneous!)
I didn’t grow up taking vacations, so I always feel a little guilty when I go.
We are home now, and I feel so renewed. It was the most wonderful trip ever. I’m so thankful I went and can’t wait to go again.
Cabo was beautiful. I feel in love with the scenery, the people, the food, everything.
We ate. The food was amazing. I think ate my weight in guacamole.
We napped by the pool.
We swam in the ocean.
We just spent time together. He and I….no interruptions.
I left my phone at home so I could unplug from everything. It was weird at first. So often our phones are an extension of our hands. I felt like I needed to grab my phone every minute, but I finally got use to not having it.Then I realized, I didn’t miss it one bit. It was so nice to be 100% with Mark.
I’m so thankful for the week we had together. I’m thankful that we continue to invest in our marriage after 21 years.
